Forgiveness With Him -Psalms 130:3-4

"If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O LORD, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared."

A simple promise reminding us of God's amazing forgiveness.

God-Who-Forgives -Psalms 99:6-9

This promise talks about how God was faithful to Old Testament "heroes of the faith". The God that was faithful and forgiving to them is the same God that we serve.

"Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called upon His name; They called upon the LORD, and He answered them. He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar; They kept His testimonies and the ordinance He gave them. You answered them, O LORD our God; You were to them God-Who-Forgives, though You took vengeance on their deeds. Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at His holy hill; For the LORD our God is holy."

In Him -Ephesians 1:7-10

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth - in Him."

Forgave My Sin -Psalms 32:5

"I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," And You forgave the iniquity of my sin."

Favorable To Your Land -Psalms 85:1-3

"LORD, You have been favorable to Your land; You have brought back the captivity of Jacob. You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. You have taken away all Your wrath; You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger."

A Broken Spirit -Psalms 51:16

This is such a powerful chapter. To me, this chapter is the perfect example of being broken before God as we see David pour out His heart to God after his sin with Bathsheba.

This verse that I'm sharing gives us the promise that God won't reject us as we come in brokenness to Him.

"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart-These, O God, You will not despise."

But God -Psalms 49:15

"But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, For He shall receive me."

Saved By His Life -Romans 5:10-11

"For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation."

Atonement -Psalms 65:3

"Iniquities prevail against me; As for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them."

Ready to Forgive -Psalms 86:5

"For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You."

Heal our Backsliding -Hosea 14:1-4

This the first of two posts....I really like this chapter in Hosea.

"O Israel, return to the LORD your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity; Take words with you, And return to the LORD. Say to Him, "Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips. Assyria shall not save us, We will not ride on horses, Nor will we say anymore to the work of our hands, 'You are our gods.' For in You the fatherless finds mercy."

I love God's response to this:

"I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely, For My anger has turned away from him." 

I few phrases really stand out to me.

• "Assyria shall not save us..." -the idea that we can't rely on anyone or anything else to rescue us...Jesus is the only way.
• "Nor will we say...to the work of our hands, 'You are our gods." -Not letting anything in our life get a higher pedestal than God does.
• "For in You the fatherless finds mercy." -Just really like the wording...that only in God we find mercy.
• "I will heal their backsliding." -He will put us in a right standing with God!
• "I will love them freely." -God's Love is no longer withheld from us! 

Hold on to these promises! If we repent and turn to Him, not only will God heal and forgive us, we will experience His love.

Nailed it to the Cross -Colossians 2:13-14

This is a continuation of a promise I did a few days ago...these verses are so powerful!

"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."

The wording of these verses is really amazing...that God forgave us of everything, (when we were dead in our sins), wiping out all the requirements against us.


He took all of that, and nailed it to the cross.
