Redemption and Mercy -Psalms 130:7-8

"O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption. And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities."

Great is Your Mercy -Psalms 86:12-13

"I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore. For great is Your mercy toward me, and You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol."

Truth Unto the Clouds -Psalms 57:9-11

"I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations. For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let Your glory be above all the earth."

You Have Done It -Psalms 52:7-9

""Here is the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness." But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise You forever, Because you have done it; And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good."

The Lord is Good -Psalms 100:4-5

"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations."

Holds Me Up -Psalms 94:17-19

"Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul would soon have settled in silence. If I say, "My foot slips," Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up. In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul."

In the Light of Your Countenance -Psalms 89:13-15

"You have a mighty arm; Strong is Your hand, and high is Your right hand. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face. Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O LORD, in the light of Your countenance."

The God of All Comfort -2 Corinthians 1:3-4

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

I really like how the end of this verse points out that God comforts us so we can in turn comfort others.

Above the Heavens -Psalms 108:3-4

"I will praise You, O LORD, among the peoples, and I will sing praises to You among the nations. For Your mercy is great above the heavens, and Your truth reaches to the clouds."

Gathered Out of the Lands -Psalms 107:2-3

This is my last post for Psalms 107...it truly is an amazing chapter, full of promises.

In other words, read the whole chapter! You won't regret it.

"Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, and gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south."

While this passage talks about a particular point in time, I think that verse really is, in a sense, a promise towards the future, where those that are saved will be united with Christ.

However, I also think this has application here and now, as we see an example of God's mercy. We can relate this to our lives, understanding that through salvation God has redeemed us, and gathered us out of darkness.

To God Belongs Mercy -Psalms 62:11-12

"God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God. Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For you render to each one according to his work."

Surrounded by Mercy -Psalms 32:10-11

"Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him. Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!"

Wait for Him -Isaiah 30:18

"Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him."

Trust in the LORD -Psalms 21:1-7

This is a longer passage, but I thought it was important to share the last verse I picked out, as it gives perspective to all the other verses. The reason the king receives all of these promises is because He trusts in God.

Reading these promises is a great encouragement for us to do the same!

"The king shall have joy in Your strength, O LORD; And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! You have given him his hearts' desire, And have not withheld the request of his lips. For You meet him with the blessings of goodness; You set a crown of pure gold upon his head. He asked life from You, and You gave it to him - Length of days forever and ever. His glory is great in Your salvation; Honor and majesty You have placed upon him. For You have made him most blessed forever; You have made him exceedingly glad with Your presence. For the king trusts in the LORD, And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved."

I also wanted to point out that I do not believe that these promises will necessarily be experienced in their entirety here on earth. Some of these promises find their fulfillment once we reach heaven.

And that just gives us something to look forward to.

Great Deliverance -Psalms 18:50

"Great deliverance He gives to His king, And shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore."

You Will Show Yourself -Psalms 18:25-26

"With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless; With the pure You will show Yourself pure; And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd."

My Feet in a Wide Place -Psalms 31:7-8

"I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, For You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities, And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place."

Righteousness and Peace Have Kissed -Psalms 85:10-13

"Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the LORD will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway."

Favorable To Your Land -Psalms 85:1-3

"LORD, You have been favorable to Your land; You have brought back the captivity of Jacob. You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. You have taken away all Your wrath; You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger."

Tender Mercies -Psalms 145:9

"The LORD is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works."
