Kept in Safety -Psalms 12:5-7

This promise is an encouragement to those who are oppressed or needy (which I think we all experience at various points in our life). God promises to set us in safety and to keep us. I also find verse six fascinating, which talks about how the words of God are pure...

...I'm thinking that its referring to verse five, in which the promise is a direct quote from God...God spoke the promise that He will keep us safe, and that promise was spoken with pure words. In other words, God is using the purity as of His words as a reminder that His promise is pure and not corrupt.

Just what I'm thinking, but I believe some research into the Hebrew is required :)

""For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now I will arise," says the LORD; "I will set him in the safety for which he yearns." The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. You shall keep them, O LORD, You shall preserve them from this generation forever."

Compassion -Psalms 135:13-14

"Your name, O LORD, endures forever, Your fame, O LORD, throughout all generations. For the LORD will judge His people, and He will have compassion on His servants."

Redemption and Mercy -Psalms 130:7-8

"O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption. And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities."

Forgiveness With Him -Psalms 130:3-4

"If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O LORD, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared."

A simple promise reminding us of God's amazing forgiveness.

Fearing the LORD -Psalms 128:1-4

"Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways. When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants all around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD."

Reap in Joy -Psalms 126:5-6

"Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him."

Great is Your Mercy -Psalms 86:12-13

"I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore. For great is Your mercy toward me, and You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol."

A Heart Set on Pilgrimage -Psalms 84:3-7

...and I caught up missing yesterday! In David's poetry, we see the promise given to those who seek and rely on God.

"Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young - even Your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; They will still be praising You. Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring; they rain also covers is with pools. They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion."

Working Salvation -Psalms 74:12

"For God is my King from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth."

You Shall Revive Me Again -Psalms 71:20-21

"You, who have shown me great and severe troubles, shall revive me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth. You shall increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side."

Your Heart Shall Live -Psalms 69:32-36

"The humble shall see this and be glad; And you who seek God, your hearts shall live. For the LORD hears the poor, and does not despise His prisoners. Let heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and everything that moves in them. For God will save Zion and build the cities of Judah, that they may dwell there and possess it. Also, the descendants of His servants shall inherit it, and those who love His name shall dwell in it."

Loads Us With Benefits -Psalms 68:19

"Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation."

More Awesome -Psalms 68:35

"O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places. The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God!"

Truth Unto the Clouds -Psalms 57:9-11

"I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations. For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let Your glory be above all the earth."

You Have Done It -Psalms 52:7-9

""Here is the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness." But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise You forever, Because you have done it; And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good."

The Lord is Good -Psalms 100:4-5

"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations."

God-Who-Forgives -Psalms 99:6-9

This promise talks about how God was faithful to Old Testament "heroes of the faith". The God that was faithful and forgiving to them is the same God that we serve.

"Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called upon His name; They called upon the LORD, and He answered them. He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar; They kept His testimonies and the ordinance He gave them. You answered them, O LORD our God; You were to them God-Who-Forgives, though You took vengeance on their deeds. Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at His holy hill; For the LORD our God is holy."

The LORD Reigns! -Psalms 97:1

This simple promise can be easy to forget in our sin-filled world...our God is still in control!!!

"The LORD reigns; Let the earth rejoice; Let the multitude of isles be glad!"

My Rock of Refuge -Psalms 94:20-23

"Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, have fellowship with You? They gather together against the life of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood. But the LORD has been my defense, and my God the rock of my refuge. He has brought on them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; The LORD our God shall cut them off."

Holds Me Up -Psalms 94:17-19

"Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul would soon have settled in silence. If I say, "My foot slips," Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up. In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul."
