Christ is All in All -Colossians 3:8-11

I find this promise encouraging as it reminds us of who we are in Christ.
"But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all."

Complete in Him -Colossians 2:8-10

"Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power."

Made Without Hands -Colossians 2:11-12

"In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead."

Once Alienated -Colossians 1:21-23

This is a section of verses I really like: it's a reminder that through Jesus' death on the cross, we have now been reconciled to God.
"And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight - if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister."
Wow. We are now considered righteous, blameless in His sight!

Let us be ones that take this promise to heart, remembering the encouragement Paul gives in verse 23, to continue in the faith!

Do it Heartily -Colossians 3:23-25

"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality."

Hidden With Christ -Colossians 3:1-4

Hey! I thought today would be a great day to actually get my post in on time! So here it is!
"If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory."
I really like how this verse gives us better perspective. We so easily get wrapped up in the here and now, and forget how Christ has raised us from our old man...we are hidden in Christ!

This verse also gives us the promise that when Christ comes, we will be with Him in glory.

(On a side note, I love how that last verse says "Christ, who is our life..." We only bring the dead man (us) to the table. It's Christ who gives us life!)

God's Deliverance from Sin and it's Power -Colossians 1:13-14

"He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins."
I think what I find encouraging from this section is how it mentions that God has delivered us from "the power of darkness." I know at least in my life there are times where sin can seem so powerful...But God is way stronger. His salvation saves us from sin, the power of sin, and then "conveys us into the kingdom of the Son of His love." That is a promise I can hold onto.
