Great is Your Mercy -Psalms 86:12-13

"I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore. For great is Your mercy toward me, and You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol."

The Veil is Taken Away -2 Corinthians 3:12-16

"Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech-unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away." 

Those Who God Down to the Sea in Ships -Psalms 107:23-32

This is a long passage, but really good. This was the promise from Scripture that my Dad shared with me at my senior piano recital when I graduated from high school.

When we are going through life, we will hit rough times...we just need to remember to cry out to God!

"Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business on great waters, they see the works of the LORD, and His wonders in the deep. For He commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves of the sea. They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths; Their soul melts because of trouble. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end. Then they cry out to the LORD in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven. Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the company of the elders."

Healing -Psalms 107:17-22

"Fools, because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, were afflicted. Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing."

He Delivered Them -Psalms 107:4-7

"They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses. And He led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city for a dwelling place."

Father to the Fatherless -Psalms 68:4-6

"Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds, by His name YAH, and rejoice before Him. A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation. God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land."

Considering the Poor -Psalms 41:1-3

"Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed."

Yet He Thinks On Me -Psalms 40:17

"But I am poor and needy; Yet the LORD thinks upon me. You are my help and my deliverer; Do not delay, O my God."

Great Deliverance -Psalms 18:50

"Great deliverance He gives to His king, And shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore."

I Will Love You -Psalms 18:1-3

Before I get into today's post, I wanted to mention that this blog is not only about having a daily promise, but is a site that can be accessed when you are just going through some rough times.

Today wasn't the best of days for me. I was pretty depressed with how it all played out. But I ended up coming back to my blog, and as I clicked on the label "Rest in God", I found some encouraging scriptures to hold onto.

Why did I tell you that? I think just to explain better how the blog can be used....Stay encouraged!

Afflicted No More -Nahum 1:12-13

"Thus says the LORD: "Though they are safe, and likewise many, Yet in this manner they will be cut down when he passes through. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more; For now I will break off his yoke from you, And burst your bonds apart.""

Salvation -Psalms 62:1-2

"Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved."

Revive Me -Psalms 138:7

"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me."

Redeemed in Peace -Psalms 55:18-19

"He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, For there were many against me. God will hear, and afflict them, Even He who abides from of old."

Delivered Me Out of All Trouble -Psalms 54:6-7
