Sons of the Living God -Romans 9:25-26

"As He says also in Hosea: "I will call them My people, who were not My people, and her beloved, who was not beloved. And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to to them, 'You are not My people,' there they shall be called sons of the living God."

The Gift of Eternal Life -Romans 6:20-23

"For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Under Grace -Romans 6:12-14

This post is a continuation of yesterday's post...since we are dead to sin and alive in Christ, we are given this command regarding sin...and it ends with a promise.
"Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace."

Live With Him -Romans 6:7-11

"For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Old Man is Crucified -Romans 6:5-6

"For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin."

Hope Does Not Disappoint -Romans 5:1-5

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulations produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."

You Will Live -Romans 8:12-13

"Therefore, brethren, we are debtors-not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live."

Help in Our Weaknesses -Romans 8:26-27

"Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God."

Saved By His Life -Romans 5:10-11

"For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation."

The Power of God To Salvation -Romans 1:16

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. "
This verse is a good reminder of how we can rest in the promise of Salvation...this verse is a reminder to us that through the Gospel, our powerful God has saved those who would believe.

All Things...-Romans 8:28

This well-known verse is a great reminder of how God is in control. And since He is in control, we know that whatever happens will ultimately bring glory to Him.

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

While We Were Still Sinners...Romans 5:6-8

"For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
It easy for us as Christians to see our sin as separating us from Christ. I'm encouraged to know that even though I fail time and time again, God didn't save me when I was obedient.

However, what God did do is demonstrate His love for me by dying on the cross for my sins...a gift which I totally did not deserve.

The Power of God's Love -Romans 8:35-39

We can't do it on our own...without God, we really are lost.

As you read the following verses, I encourage you to think about God's love towards us, and the power of that love which is at work in our lives...when we come up against attacks and temptations from Satan, we can know that nothing will keep us from His love towards us.

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Nothing can separate us from God's Love.

Peace With God -Romans 5:1-2

Sin divides.

Before sin was in the world, man was in perfect fellowship with God....but after Adam and Eve's sin in the garden, man became separated from God.

That's why I find these verses in Romans encouraging. Because it points us back to how we receive the promise of God's peace...

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God."

When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He covered our sins, enabling us to have peace with God. If I had to somehow, reach out to God, I would completely fail because of my sin.

Because of Jesus, however, we can receive the promise that if we have been justified by faith, we can have peace with God.

But this peace can't be obtained by good works, "lest any man should boast."
