Kept in Safety -Psalms 12:5-7

This promise is an encouragement to those who are oppressed or needy (which I think we all experience at various points in our life). God promises to set us in safety and to keep us. I also find verse six fascinating, which talks about how the words of God are pure...

...I'm thinking that its referring to verse five, in which the promise is a direct quote from God...God spoke the promise that He will keep us safe, and that promise was spoken with pure words. In other words, God is using the purity as of His words as a reminder that His promise is pure and not corrupt.

Just what I'm thinking, but I believe some research into the Hebrew is required :)

""For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now I will arise," says the LORD; "I will set him in the safety for which he yearns." The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. You shall keep them, O LORD, You shall preserve them from this generation forever."

Serving God -John 12:25-26

I haven't been as good posting lately, (I'm blaming that for a lot of school and being on vacation), but I thought I'd get something in tonight.

"He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor."

Compassion -Psalms 135:13-14

"Your name, O LORD, endures forever, Your fame, O LORD, throughout all generations. For the LORD will judge His people, and He will have compassion on His servants."

Redemption and Mercy -Psalms 130:7-8

"O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption. And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities."

Forgiveness With Him -Psalms 130:3-4

"If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O LORD, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared."

A simple promise reminding us of God's amazing forgiveness.

Fearing the LORD -Psalms 128:1-4

"Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways. When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants all around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD."

Reap in Joy -Psalms 126:5-6

"Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him."

Great is Your Mercy -Psalms 86:12-13

"I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore. For great is Your mercy toward me, and You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol."

A Heart Set on Pilgrimage -Psalms 84:3-7

...and I caught up missing yesterday! In David's poetry, we see the promise given to those who seek and rely on God.

"Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young - even Your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; They will still be praising You. Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a spring; they rain also covers is with pools. They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion."

Working Salvation -Psalms 74:12

"For God is my King from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth."

You Shall Revive Me Again -Psalms 71:20-21

"You, who have shown me great and severe troubles, shall revive me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth. You shall increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side."

Your Heart Shall Live -Psalms 69:32-36

"The humble shall see this and be glad; And you who seek God, your hearts shall live. For the LORD hears the poor, and does not despise His prisoners. Let heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and everything that moves in them. For God will save Zion and build the cities of Judah, that they may dwell there and possess it. Also, the descendants of His servants shall inherit it, and those who love His name shall dwell in it."

More Awesome -Psalms 68:35

"O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places. The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God!"

Truth Unto the Clouds -Psalms 57:9-11

"I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations. For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let Your glory be above all the earth."

You Have Done It -Psalms 52:7-9

""Here is the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness." But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise You forever, Because you have done it; And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good."

The Savior of all Men -1 Timothy 4:10

"For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe."

A Ransom for All -1 Timothy 2:5-6

"For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,"

Christ is All in All -Colossians 3:8-11

I find this promise encouraging as it reminds us of who we are in Christ.

"But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all."

Every Need -Philippians 4:19

"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

All Things Through Christ -Philippians 4:13

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
