Weep No More -Isaiah 30:19
Oops! I missed my first day of posting yesterday!! Oh well, I'll make it up by doing two tomorrow...
"For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; You shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; When He hears it, He will answer you."

Wait for Him -Isaiah 30:18
"Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him."

Established Peace -Isaiah 26:12
"LORD, You will establish peace for us, For You have done all our works in us."I really like how this verse says God will establish peace for us because He has done all our works...not us.
Rest in God! There is a peace from knowing that Christ is working in and through us...anything good that we do, it's not us doing it.
He did it.

Everlasting Strength -Isaiah 26:4-6
"Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength. For He brings down those who dwell on high, The lofty city; He lays it low, He lays it low to the ground, He brings it down to the dust. The foot shall tread it down-The feet of the poor And the steps of the needy."
Perfect Peace -Isaiah 26:3
"You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You."

A Great Light has Shined -Isaiah 9:2
"The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined."

A Branch -Isaiah 11:1-5
Wow, really late today guys....so I'm just going to post the verses...
"There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. His delight is in the fear of the Lord, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist."

A Virgin Shall Conceive ...Isaiah 7:14
...I had my first clementine of the season!
Now what does that have to do with today's promise? Absolutely nothing. I'm not going to even try to make up a corny analogy to explain how it fits in.
Sorry.
However, the promise foretold about Jesus that I'm sharing today is amazing.
Immanuel literally means, "God with us." We as Christians can take encouragement from this verse in two ways:
1) That Jesus would come down to earth, and become man, to eventually die on the cross for our sins. Wow. We serve an amazing God.
2) As Christians, we need to remember that although Jesus is not on earth the way He was before, God is still with us. No matter the trials or blessings we are going through, God is with us. And He is coming again! --though that's a promise for another day :)
God-with-us.

"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel."Not only does this verse give the promise of the birth of Christ, but I find a profound promise in the name given to Jesus: Immanuel.

Christmas is Coming! -Isaiah 9:6
We just got our Christmas Tree today...in other words, Christmas is coming!
With that in mind, I thought I would start posting promises about the coming of Christ. I honestly don't know how many prophecies/promises there are regarding Christ's birth, so we'll see if I make it all the way to Christmas :)
I thought I would start with a pretty well known prophecy from Isaiah 9...I won't put the whole passage down, but I may later go back and do another verse from this chapter.
...He is wonderful
...He is our Counselor
...He is a mighty God (on our behalf)
...He is our Everlasting Father

"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."Not only is this a promise regarding the prophecy of Christ's birth, but there also is a promise in all of the names given to Jesus....As Christians, we can rely on God that He is and will be all of those things on our behalf...
...He is wonderful
...He is our Counselor

...He is our Everlasting Father
...and He is our Prince of Peace.

A Heavenly Perspective -Isaiah 35:10
"And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away."
Life here on earth is only temporary...for the Christian, the best is yet to come!
