"Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called upon His name; They called upon the LORD, and He answered them. He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar; They kept His testimonies and the ordinance He gave them. You answered them, O LORD our God; You were to them God-Who-Forgives, though You took vengeance on their deeds. Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at His holy hill; For the LORD our God is holy."

God-Who-Forgives -Psalms 99:6-9
This promise talks about how God was faithful to Old Testament "heroes of the faith". The God that was faithful and forgiving to them is the same God that we serve.

Rest in the Days of Adversity -Psalms 94:12-15
"Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O LORD, and teach out of Your law, That You may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked. For the LORD will not cast off His people, nor will He forsake His inheritance. But judgement will return to righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it."

God's Faithfulness and Might -Psalms 89:8-10
"O LORD God of hosts, Who is mighty like You, O LORD? Your faithfulness also surrounds You. You rule the raging of the sea; When its waves rise, You still them. You have broken Rahab in pieces, as one who is slain; You have scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm."

Dry Land into Watersprings -Psalms 107:33-38
This promise is not only about God's judgement, but also about God's provision and faithfulness.
"He turns rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it. He turns a wilderness into pools of water, and dry land into watersprings. There He makes the hungry dwell, that they may establish a city for a dwelling place, and sow fields and plant vineyards, that they may yield a fruitful harvest. He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly; And He does not let their cattle decrease."

Not Tempted Beyond What We Are Able -1 Corinthians 10:13
"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

Lasting Joy -Psalms 30:8-12
"I cried out to You, O LORD; And to the LORD I made supplication: "What profit is there in my blood, When I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth? Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me; LORD, be my helper!" You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever."

My Spirit Remains -Haggai 2:4-5
Well, it's time to fast-forward to a month later in the story from the book of Haggai.
You see, God is so good...He encourages us throughout our journey...and this is a good example of that as He uses Haggai the prophet to share with them His promise.

"'Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,' says the LORD; 'and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,' says the LORD, 'and work; for I am with you,' says the LORD of hosts. 'According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!'

Not Receiving the Promise -Hebrews 11:39-40
Now, that has got to be the weirdest title to a blog post in a blog that is supposed to be a blog full of promises...how could even this be a promise?
Hebrews 11 is a chapter that is full of examples of past "hero's of the faith". We hear of Noah, and Abraham, and Moses, to name a few. And in these accounts, we see how they followed God in faith...believing God's promises to be true.
And then in verse 39 we read this:
Verse 40 clears it up when it says,
These "Hero's of the Faith" may not have gained their reward here on earth, but they certainly will...when God has gathered His bride (all Christians) in Him, then God will be faithful to fulfill His promise to all believers.
God doesn't lie.

"God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us."
These "Hero's of the Faith" may not have gained their reward here on earth, but they certainly will...when God has gathered His bride (all Christians) in Him, then God will be faithful to fulfill His promise to all believers.

He Remains Faithful -2 Timothy 2:11-13
"This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself."Here we have in Paul's exhortation to Timothy a reminder that God is faithful.
He is faithful in his promises of life to those who follow Him, and He is faithful to keep His Word and deny life to those who deny Him.
So which side are you on? To me this is a convicting passage, as it reminds me that although I claim salvation, I know my life doesn't always look like that...
...because when I sin, I'm really denying Him.

I Am Helped -Psalms 28:7
"The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him."

The Power of God To Salvation -Romans 1:16
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. "This verse is a good reminder of how we can rest in the promise of Salvation...this verse is a reminder to us that through the Gospel, our powerful God has saved those who would believe.

Faithful to Forgive -1 John 1:9
This promise is a great reminder of God's mercy and forgiveness...if we confess our sin, God will faithfully forgive us and entirely cleanse us from our sins. We serve a great God!
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Satisfies the Longing Soul -Psalms 107:8-9
"Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness."

God's Love -Zephaniah 3:16-17
Happy Valentine's Day! In honor of the day, I thought I would share a verse that talks about God's Love.
Now this love isn't just any love. This love passes all understanding, and is far greater than the love we as human beings show towards each other.
And God promises to quiet us with this perfect love that He has.
Wow. All I can say is, rest in the Lord! True peace comes from Him.
"In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: "Do not fear; Zion, let not your hands be weak. The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.""Wow. God tells us here to not be afraid...because God is with us. He goes on to say that God will save us, He will rejoice over us, and He will quiet us with His love.
Now this love isn't just any love. This love passes all understanding, and is far greater than the love we as human beings show towards each other.
And God promises to quiet us with this perfect love that He has.
Wow. All I can say is, rest in the Lord! True peace comes from Him.

Always Righteous -Zephaniah 3:5
This is an interesting verse. Surrounding it we hear about how wicked Jerusalem is, and the judgement from God that is about to come. And then this is in the middle:
It's also amazing to realize that this faithful righteousness was imputed to us through Jesus' death on the Cross...
"The LORD is righteous in her midst, He will do no unrighteousness. Every morning He brings His justice to light; He never fails, But the unjust knows no shame."All around we hear about how sinful Jerusalem is, and then we see this clear promise that God is always righteous...We are faithfully unrighteous, and God is faithfully righteous.
It's also amazing to realize that this faithful righteousness was imputed to us through Jesus' death on the Cross...

Being Destroyed or Receiving Deliverance -Psalms 37:38-40
These verses follow right after what I posted yesterday...
"But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; The future of the wicked shall be cut off. But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the LORD shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him."

Not Beggars -Psalms 37:25
"I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread."This isn't set up like a promise...especially since it is coming from David...but I believe that this is really a promise from God...a reminder that God does provide...and that He will sustain us.
We can put our faith in God.
