You Hold Me -Psalms 73:22-24

"I was so foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You. Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory."

Done in Truth -Psalms 33:4

"For the word of the LORD is right, And all His work is done in truth."

Being Blessed -James 1:22-25

In James we find the secret to being blessed...obey God's Word!

"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does."

Satisfying Our Mouth -Psalms 103:5

...here is the next part in Psalms 103:

"Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's."

 As Christians, we fall into periods where we lose our excitement for God and His Word. Maybe it's a time when you are following God's will for your life, and you start to lose the energy, the vision that you once had to reach out.

This verse reminds me that it is in those times that I should be seeking God the most! God promises here to satisfy our mouth with good things, so that our youth is renewed.

So seek God! I know, even from experience, that Satan will do whatever He can to keep you from seeking Him.

Love of God Perfected -1 John 2:4-5

"He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him."

Making Your Way Prosperous -Joshua 1:8

"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." 

Grace and Truth -John 1:16-17

This is a continuation of the last blog post....the next two verses in John 1. I saw these verses and thought they were really good...

"And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."

The grace and truth that we have received through salvation and God's Word is from Jesus.

...and the Word Became Flesh -John 1:14-15

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.'"

I think maybe this should have been the first passage I did for promises regarding Christ's birth. Here in God's Word we see a clear statement that 'The Word', Jesus, became flesh and lived with us. Not only was this book written by an eyewitness, but this passage also mentions how John the Baptist "vouched" for the validity of Jesus Christ.

This promise can be an encouragement to us, knowing that Christ did indeed come to earth...it's not just a nice story.

This section also really gets me thinking, "what would it have been like to have lived when Christ was on the earth?" The thought of being to be able to "behold His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth" gets me excited!

But then again we are able to get a glimpse of His glory in His Word, which is something that they didn't entirely have back then. We get a more complete picture.
