To be completely honest, I did it mainly for myself. In fact, if no one reads it, that's quite alright by me.
You see, the whole reason for this blog comes from a message that was shared by my pastor last Sunday. As a Church we are going through 2 Peter, and this last week we were going through verses 1-4. The verses are as follows:
Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
One of the things that my Pastor shared is that one way we as Christians receive strength to fight the good fight is through the promises that God has made to us in scripture! We need to be searching Scripture, gaining encouragement from reading the promises that God has made to us.
Which brings me to this blog.
My goal is to post once a day to this blog, each time sharing a promise that God makes to us in Scripture. It may only be a verse, or it may include other thoughts, depending on time and other factors. My hope is this blog will serve as an encouragement to me, and others who may see it. Feel free to leave a comment, whether you disagree with something I've wrote, or have other thoughts to share. I'd appreciate it!
So, off to blogging!
Jay, this is a good exercise as part of your personal study. I hope you stay with it.
